Engine Camshaft Arc Spray Welding
LKQ Corporation is the leading provider of alternative and specialty parts to repair and accessorize automobiles and other vehicles. At LKQ Bellingham we specialize in the remanufacturing of automotive engines. This position uses thermal arc spray equipment in a ventilated weld booth to apply even amounts of metal to the bearing journals of automotive camshafts. All training is provided, no prior experience needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities - This position applies metal to engine camshaft bearing surfaces in order to repair damage. - The bearing surfaces are cut on a lathe, the cam is masked to prevent damage where weld is not wanted, the cam is prepared using a shot blaster, the weld is applied and overspray and tape is removed. Required Skills - Able to work in a fast-paced production environment - Able to work as part of a team as well as independently - Basic communication skills - Basic math skills - Strong attention to detail - Situational flexibility - Able to work weekdays 6:00am-2:30pm with weekends and overtime as required
Education and Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Physical Requirements - Move up to 50lbs - Repeatedly stand, squat, bend, and lift for long periods of time
