Manufacturing Engineer

SUMMARY: Develops and implements optimal, cost-effective manufacturing processes and methods which meet product specifications and quality standards. Recommends and implements improvements to production processes, methods, and controls. Coordinates manufacturing launch for new/revised products.


  • Evaluates manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.
  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.
  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished- product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes.
  • Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements.
  • Prepares product and process reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends. 
  • Maintains product and company reputation by complying with government regulations.
  • Keeps equipment operational by coordinating maintenance and repair services; following manufacturer’s instructions and established procedures; requesting special service.
  • Completes design and development projects by training and guiding technicians.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.


  • Ability to read, write, and interpret procedure manuals, pneumatic and electrical schematics, work instructions, & software manuals. 
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, schematic, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several systematic variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be familiar with current software packages such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • Must possess problem analysis and resolution skills.
  • Individuals may need to sit, stand, or walk for extended periods and may need to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • May require time spent on alternate shifts or weekends (overtime) as needed. 


  • Prefer technical training in manufacturing engineering, of factory/plant maintenance.
  • Prefer experience in Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kanban, & Just-in-Time.
  • Prefer experience in Injection Molding, Packaging, Assembly, & Printing.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience and responsibility in a manufacturing environment.
  • Prefer experience in Injection Molding, Packaging, Assembly, & Printing.
