Job Description Summary

The Fleet Maintenance Clerk supports the maintenance team by ordering parts, maintaining the maintenance system, part inventory levels/accuracy, and processing reports for management.


  • Creates purchase orders and orders parts
  • Enters maintenance-related data into CMMS program
  • Verifies information entered is accurate
  • Works with accounts payable to ensure proper invoicing of parts
  • Maintains accurate inventory - includes cycle counting
  • Receives, labels, stocks, and dispenses parts to mechanics/supervisors/managers
  • Maintains organization and cleanliness of parts room/areas
  • Create productivity and usage reports for management
  • Follows safety policies and procedures
  • Picks up parts in company vehicle if need be
  • Performs and other job-related duties as assigned
  • Valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • At least 6 months of related work experience
  • Experience in the trucking or construction industry is preferred
  • Computer proficiency - MS Office, data entry
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to prioritize and plan with speed and accuracy
Work Environment
  • Shop environment including, but not limited to, machines, tools, heavy equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust, and fumes
  • Inside facility, outside environment exposed to weather and vibrations from trucks
  • Occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions
