The Clinical Coordinator's role is to assist the department director in the day - to - day management of departmental operations and personnel management. The Clinical Coordinator must be knowledgeable of, and ensure compliance with, all relevant regulatory and accreditation standards, and will maintain departmental policies and procedures in support of these standards and other organizational initiatives.

Incumbent will be scheduled based on operational need, which may include but is not limited to: holidays, extended shifts, night and/or weekend shifts, standby and/or on-call. Reports to: Patient Care Director
Determines, coordinates and supervises daily staffing assignments and levels.
Provides direction, orientation, training, coaching, and mentoring to staff. Performs or assists withperformance evaluations and disciplinary actions. Assists with selection process of new staff as directed.
Assesses and ensures quality of services delivered and facilitates staff development programs. Ensures staff compliance with departmental and organizational policies, procedures, and protocols.
Performs staff responsibilities as needed to fulfill required service levels.
Leads the handling and resolution of complex issues and complaints.
Performs the duties of a registered nurse when assigned to provide direct patient care.
Maintains on-going awareness of operational activities and problems, staffing levels and deliverables, provides daily guidance and feedback to staff. Maintains responsibility for the operation of the department at all times and delegates operational authority when absent.
Minimum Education□ Bachelor’s degree X Required. Will consider ADN candidates but must obtain within 18 months of hire.
Preferred: RN-FA BSN or higher
Required Skills Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action. Demonstrated ability to lead groups, both formally and informally. Demonstrated clinical competence in relevant area of practice.
Certifications:X Basic Life Support (BLS)□ Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Required for IR, OPSP, PACU, Cath Lab and all inpatient areas□ Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required for PACU, Med-Surg□ NRP for FBC, ICNCertification required
Licenses: Current Virginia State Registered Nurse license
Minimum Work Experience Required:
2 years experience in an Operating Room setting.
3 years of experience as Registered Nurse in an acute setting.
