Job Summary

The Solutions Architect - Securitywill work as a customer facing subject matter expert, focusing on Security Information Event Management (SIEM). The Solutions Architect will take a consultative approach and lead discussions with clients regarding security platforms, will understand how technology enables business, and recognize opportunities for the company. The Solutions Architect- Security will report to Solutions Director or Regional Solutions Manager. This position is a remote position however may be required to report to Austin, TX location as required for business needs as determined by SHI management.

Responsibilities

Includes but not limited to:

  • Lead both independent as well as collaborative discussions with clients regarding Cyber Security requirements

  • Acquire and develop advanced technical and programmatic skill sets by attending company training, acquiring certifications and self-study

  • Understand OEM and industry landscape relative to solutions and market trends in order to provide continued solution expertise for team and customers

  • Support the development of go-to-market strategies across all solutions by providing project engineering, marketing assistance, customer conversations and industry expertise

  • Educate and develop sales teams on security solution selling and key technologies with Develop and maintain internal intellectual property: a combination of white papers, subject matter guides

  • Understand and assess customer requirements, objectives, and current environments to recommend improvements and develop relevant solutions

  • Understand and support company security services offerings and portfolio by working closely with the SHI services department

  • Maintain familiarity of one or more formalized IT security frameworks such CIS CSC, NIST CSF, ISO, and HITRUST by obtaining certifications, partner training, self-study and participating in company development program

  • Design an appropriate security solution based on requirement documents

  • Collaborate with sales team to cultivate and maintain client relationships

  • Collaborate with other solution architects and engineers in support of sales team, customer, and creating go-to-market activities

  • Provide technical support to the pre-sales teams for services and product support

  • Conduct self-study and independent work in lab facilities to increase hands on job-related skills

  • Recommend security solutions based on industry trends and knowledge of client environments

  • Obtain technical certifications as needed for specific projects as dictated by management

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

  • Minimum 5years’ experience working with design and delivery/implementation of information security/risk management products or operational IT/security experience

  • Experience presenting to customers, internal teams, or local professional groups

  • Knowledge across the full scope of technical security solutions including SIEM, DLP, NIPS/HIPS, VPN, IAM, AV/anti-malware, EDR, and encryption

  • Valid driver’s license

  • Must be able to pass client-required background checks as needed

  • Proficient with the following Microsoft Office products Word, PowerPoint and Visio

Required Skills

  • Independent and entrepreneurial

  • Ability to design security infrastructure including firewalls, endpoint, email, intrusion prevention/detection, identity, and governance

  • General understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, HITRUST, SABSA, CIS

  • Ability to demonstrate technical capabilities of security technology

  • Ability to obtain technical certifications as needed

  • Excellent presentation skills

  • Ability to work effectively within all levels of an organization, both internally and externally

  • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment

  • Receptive listening skills, with ability to present ideas in a clear, concise fashion to technical and non-technical audiences

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with ability to diagnose the problem

  • Ability to obtain technical certifications regularly

  • Excellent writing skills to produce written reports of recommendations, metrics, project management, process and technical documentation

  • High level reading comprehension to examine manuals and technical reports to keep up with advances and implement new technology that meets employers’ or clients’ needs

Preferred Skills

  • Performance of one or more gap assessments for formalized information security frameworks and compliance requirements preferred but not required

  • One or more of the following security certifications: Cisco NA, CISSP, CompTIA Security+, SANS GIAC, CEH, or equivalent preferred but not required

  • Technical writing

  • Experience across a diverse set of data center technology solutions

  • SOW creation and delivery

  • RFP response experience

  • Consulting project delivery

Unique Requirements

  • Extended hours are required to complete some special projects

Additional Information

  • The estimated annual pay range for this position is $180,000 - $280,000 which includes a base salary and bonuses. The compensation for this position is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location and, therefore, will vary from individual to individual. Benefits may include, but are not limited to, medical, vision, dental, 401K, and flexible spending.
