We are seeking a Regional Director, Managed Care for our Southern California market. This position is responsible for maximizing the performance of UHS’ private payer contracted business in accordance with UHS strategic and financial directives. As the Regional Director, Managed Care, you will be guided by, and asked to improve upon, contracting parameters and tools which ensure execution and maintenance of private payer contracts that meet UHS corporate financial goals and maximize the potential for revenue collection per company systems. You will lead and coordinate contract negotiations, and project their financial performance which includes the requirement to develop various modeled financial scenarios in conjunction with Decision Support staff and the Vice President of Payer Strategies/Managed Care. You will ensure revenue cycle coordination among all functional areas required to maximize collections of expected revenues. You will lead the market in the evolving transition from traditional, fee-for-service revenue to fee-for-value and pay-for-performance models. You will coordinate all efforts with appropriate staff responsible for the financial performance maximization of company-owned and managed physician practices (IPM) including Southern California market leadership.
UHS Southern California acute care market today consists of five (5) facilities - - four in the Inland Empire in Riverside County, and one in northern Los Angeles County. The market accounts for approximately $660 M in annualized revenue, including almost $450 M in private payer revenue across employer/commercial, public individual exchange, MediCal and Medicare Advantage lines-of-business. Key health plan relationships include Kaiser, Anthem/Blue Cross of Anthem and Blue Shield of California; in addition, key independent physician association’s relations include North American Medical Management (NAMM)/PrimeCare and Heritage Provider Network.

Bachelors Degree in Business, Healthcare Management or other closely related field; Master’s degree, preferred
Minimum of 8 years of managed care negotiations/contracting experience
Extensive knowledge of health finance and systems employed by physicians, employers and institutional entities as well as public and private database systems
Comprehensive working knowledge of managed care contracting and practices essential to maximize revenue and margins generated for healthcare services paid through various algorithms
