This teacher will be responsible for providing Spanish instruction in Grades Gr. K-4 at the Hampstead Central School. This is an 80% position with benefits.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment, where students are encouraged to develop intellectual curiosity, a love for the Spanish language, and an appreciation of its culture. The position calls for a person with an ability to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of all students and work as a part of a team. The teacher is responsible for creating and implementing units and common assessments.
In the Spanish Program, there will be a focus on listening and speaking with exposure to reading and writing. There will also be a cultural component where students will understand the cultures of the many countries in which Spanish is spoken.
The prospective teacher should have knowledge of effective use of relevant technology, possess knowledge of best practices for effective second language acquisition. Additionally, the candidate should possess knowledge of differentiated instruction techniques and developmental design, and have experience designing and implementing projects and performance assessments.
The following skills are preferred:
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Demonstrated expertise in fostering a positive and supportive classroom environment, where students are encouraged to develop intellectual curiosity.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside the ability to establish and maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with a diverse staff and student body.
• New Hampshire State teaching certification in Elementary Education in addition to Spanish teaching cert
• A strong work ethic, alongside a commitment to doing whatever it takes for students to excel.
Qualifications
Certification/License: NH DOE Certification in Spanish Endorsement 0619 (or Statement of Eligiblity in the same)
Education: Minimum Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
