The Vice President Marketing has responsibility for the development and execution of Weld-On’s global marketing strategy, a strategy that will support the goals of the division and lead to successful business and financial results. This executive will be a key member of the leadership team and provide the thought leadership, strategic direction and tactical implementation to transform Weld-On into a world-class marketing organization.

Key Responsibilities
The Vice President Marketing must be a proven, highly effective leader with demonstrated business and team efficacy. With over 10 years of marketing, customer and product experience, and a deep knowledge of strategy development, the successful candidate will have proven experience in driving strategy, executing portfolio management and marketing/brand communications to deliver commercial success.

  • Develop and lead the strategic marketing direction for the division
  • Work with sales to validate strategic plans and build go-to-market strategies
  • Lead product and solution commercialization efforts that demonstrate success via measurable outcomes linked to financial and business objectives
  • Ensure that Voice of the Customer is heard and used in the development of solutions
  • Direct new product development activities that support strategic goals and contribute to our industry leadership position
  • Build business case and rationale for product development roadmap
  • Work with R&D to ensure alignment with priorities
  • Direct marketing communications and industry stewardship that maintain and grow the Weld-On brand image
  • Lead branding and customer experience initiatives, including marketing communications in the digital, social and event driven spaces
  • Protect the Weld-On trademark in all global markets
  • Develop highly motivated marketing/product teams that contribute to successful financial and business results
  • Develop customer based relationships with integrity, as well as business and technical efficiency, to deliver key business results
  • Become an expert in our customers, competitors and their products, both in the US and in key international markets
  • Prioritize and support market, customer, solution and product research
  • Champion the gathering, storage and use of market intelligence


  • Ten plus (10+) years product, marketing or strategic leadership in a B2B environment, including 5 years' experience in portfolio management, commercialization and product marketing
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.  MBA or other advanced degree preferred. 
  • Strong business analytical competency
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly understand technical products and solutions and work with customers to drive adoption
  • Self-directed with a high sense of urgency
  • Targets breakthrough performance, not simply incremental gains
  • Demonstrated business acumen and a basic understanding of the P&L and balance sheet
  • Excellent people and relationship building skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with and influence senior leadership and customers
  • Direct staff leadership of a team, including establishing development plans, managing and tracking objectives and deliverables, and coaching for performance
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work both with teams and independently
  • Ability to travel up to 30%


  • Fifteen plus (15+) years of relevant experience
  • MBA
  • Marketing or technical undergraduate degree
  • Related industry experience
  • Technical work experience a plus
