**Job Description**
**About the role:**
As a member of Takeda Oncology, your work will contribute to our bold, inspiring vision: We aspire to cure cancer. As part of Oncology Sales, you will report to Head of Sales, US Oncology and partner with other key functions including Marketing, Patient Value & Access (PVA), and Medical Affairs.
**How you will contribute:**
+ The West Area Director (AD) is accountable for building, motivating, and leading their assigned sales team. They will create high job satisfaction through a combination of creating an industry leading culture and strong sales performance.
+ This position directly manages 4-6 Regional Directors (first line leaders) and 30-40 Oncology Territory Managers in the West Area.
+ The AD is responsible for the execution and implementation of all sales strategies and will foster collaboration with other field functions (Medical Science Liaisons, Oncology Nurse Liaisons, Strategic Account Management, Field Marketing, etc.)
+ Expectations include driving superior sales results consistent with Takeda values, as well as implementing processes to improve and support the field sales team.
+ The AD will maintain a thorough understanding of the oncology market landscape and expected to stay abreast of industry trends or events which impact their organization.
+ This position will work in partnership with other key functions including Marketing, Patient Value & Access (PVA), and Medical Affairs.
**Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor's degree
+ Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical industry experience
+ Minimum of 7 years of oncology sales management experience
+ Proven record as an effective sales leader with demonstrated understanding of all sales related processes (targeting/segmentation, planning, objective setting, training, execution, performance management, reward/recognition, etc.)
+ Demonstrated success in leadership competencies, creative problem solving and team partnership skills
+ Knowledgeable in all applicable laws and regulations related to the healthcare industry
+ Possesses excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written presentation skills
+ Excellent business acumen
+ Knowledge of geography, accounts, and market
+ Ability to quickly assimilate complex information such as oncology markets and competitive products
+ Ability to work independently and in teams
+ People leadership & coaching: Demonstrated record of successfully being able to lead others both by example and through direct authority
+ Demonstrated history of successful business planning and execution
+ High science aptitude and proven ability to coach, teach, and train
+ Demonstrates growth mindset
+ Dynamic, initiative-taker with strong influential skills, as well as entrepreneurial spirit
+ Ability to build and maintain strong, professional relationships
+ Excellent communication and collaboration skills
+ Commercial, Regulatory, and technical awareness
+ Possession of valid US Driver's License in good standing

**Base Salary Range** : $198,800 to $ 284,000, based on candidate professional experience level. Employees may also be eligible for Short-term and Long-Term Incentive benefits as well. Employees are eligible to participate in Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, 401(k), Charitable Contribution Match, Holidays, Personal Days & Vacation, Tuition Reimbursement Program and Paid Volunteer Time Off. _The final salary offered for this position may take into account a number of factors including, but not limited to, location, skills, education, and experience._
