Job Description

Bayview Asset Management's Interest Rate Risk, Derivatives & Analytics department is growing!  This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong technical and finance experience.  The Financial Analyst is responsible for the extraction of data, analysis of portfolio segments and synthesis of information necessary for the management of whole loan positions. 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Help in managing the  interest rate risk of company’s different mortgage and credit portfolios (>$10bn).
  • Analyze results and make recommendations for improvement based on results
  • Analyzing current financial market development and their implications on risk management and hedging strategies
  • Conduct regular surveillance of portfolio performance
  • Valuation of the mortgage and credit portfolios of the firm, monthly P&L reporting and attribution
  • Research industry trends to gain business intelligence in matters such as interest rates, regulatory changes,
  • Utilize tools to extract data necessary to conduct portfolio analysis; tools used include Excel, Access, SQL Server Management Studio, and CAS
  • Prioritize assignment to deliver expected work-product on a timely basis
  • Exercise exemplary corporate citizenship including strict adherence to compliance requirements and Bayview’s tenets
  • Performing ad hoc quantitative analysis on different mortgage pools and strategies.


  • Ability to work in a highly paced and dynamic environment preferred
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills
  • Expert use of Excel
  • Ability to use programming languages like Python, VBA and SQL

  • Familiarity with Bloomberg, CAS, YieldBook

  • Understanding of mortgage models

  • Knowledge of database principles and data extraction


  • Ability to work in a highly paced and dynamic environment preferred
  • Masters degree in Financial or quantitative disciplines

  • Finance, business, or project coordination experience is required
  • No certification, license, and/or registration is required
  • A CFA designation or candidacy in the CFA program is preferred
