Care Supervisor
This is an excellent time to join the award-winning organisation, The Evergreen Care Trust based in Stamford, Lincolnshire. Established in 2005.
Due to local demand for quality tailor made and whole person-centred care, Evergreen have increased their existing Home Support & Wellbeing Services – Domestic, Laundry, Shopping and Pop in visits, to now include Companionship, support with Nutrition & Hydration through meal provision, Keep Moving & Engaged strategies, as well as Medication prompts, Escort and Transport assistance for individuals living within their own homes.
Evergreen Care services are non-regulated but work to highest care standards both through their paid for provision and voluntary projects and services.
The Care Supervisor role is vital in providing support, training, and mentoring for our frontline care staff who seek to deliver the highest standards of care and excellence within their working relationships with allocated members. It is important that Supervisors work to ensure that new and existing staff are fully supported, encouraged to be the best they can be, and held to account for their care practice and delivery. The organisational values need to be understood, embedded and evidenced in all working and care relationships.
Other requirements will be to: demonstrate organisational values, professional and leadership qualities within the evergreen office with fellow colleagues, partner organisations both statutory and third sector, Evergreen members and their families as well as the general public.
The role -
- To oversee and supervise a team of Care staff delivering high quality care, to our older and often vulnerable member group, their families and carers
- To ensure the wellbeing, professional development, support and training of new and existing care staff through professional relationships, supervision and appraisal.
- To respond to referrals, assessments and care planning for members, their families and carers
- To welcome new members on board, ensuring that they are well informed, understand the assessment process and plan, regular reviews and how to raise any concerns or grievances.
- Ensure regular review, actions taken, accurate record keeping and adherence to policies and procedures that are designed to give high standard, quality care and support.
- To carry out appropriate risk assessment and management for each individual member, with the creation of bespoke care plans, this should always be done with member participation.
- Follow our in-house induction for new staff members and provide training in the workplace, introducing new staff to the care team & members, follow up engagement with service and staff.
- To provide ongoing support and guidance to new staff members, delivering the very best in training, coaching or mentoring and accountability
- Ensuring care plans, and member records are up to date and relevant on our data system.
- The role is office and community based to ensure staff / member wellbeing & quality assurance
- To assist with rota planning, timesheets, logging holidays and sicknesses, staff support
- Liaise regularly with members, their families and other allied or medical professionals.
- To understand your role and work within your professional boundaries
- You will be required to be flexible to meet demand of the service.
- You will be encouraged to use your initiative, skills and knowledge in the role

The ideal candidate will:
- Have a healthy respect for our Organisational values, staff and our member group
- Have a good understanding of Care provision and practical experience of this.
- Be personable, enjoy working with people, have a high regard for older people
- Enjoy leading, supporting front line care staff
- Have as a minimum, NVQ level 3 in health and social care, or equivalent or be prepared to gain this.
- Be organised and have the ability to manage own workload, can function well under pressure and is a good team player
- Have good communication skills and be able to adapt to the situation or person
- Be flexible to meet the needs of our services and members and the organisation
- Be able to identify and act as issues arise
- Have an interest in training, a train the trainer qualification or be prepared to complete this
- Hold a valid UK driving licence and have use of a road worthy vehicle
