**Lower School Physical Education Team Leader and Teacher**

**Role Description:**

Trevor Day School seeks candidates for a full-time Physical Education team leader and teacher for our Lower School. This faculty member will teach Nursery5th Grade Physical Education, work closely with Trevors Athletic Director in planning a balanced PE program, and maintain the inventory records and equipment requisitions for department activities. The chosen candidate will lead the Lower School PE team, teach physical fitness, gymnastics, rhythm and dance, and individual and team sports, with an interest in coaching Middle or Upper School athletics. We seek an experienced teacher who brings a multidisciplinary and multicultural pedagogy to the department's activities, games, and sports. The successful candidate will track students progress, needs, and report clearly and effectively in written and verbal form.

* Knowledge of physical fitness and the relationship between good body function and exercise.

* Encouragement of the development in strength, skill, agility, poise, and coordination across all activities and sports.

* The ability to coordinate the safety of all field areas and equipment.

* The capacity to supervise students during out-of-classroom activities such as field trips, students arrival and dismissal, etc.

* A sense of humor, an interest in professional growth, and a commitment to school wide initiatives.
