The YMCA of Greater New York is seeking a motivated Human Resources Generalist to join our passionate Human Resources team at the Association Office. This role will report to the Senior Executive of Employee Relations and Talent Acquisition and the SVP of Human Resources. This role will work closely with internal partners across all YMCA of Greater New York branches.

The Human Resources Generalist will provide project support to different areas of the HR team, including employee relations, talent acquisition, learning and development, benefits, compensation, and HRIS. The Human Resources Generalist will play a key role in contributing to ongoing and new initiatives.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of Human Resources experience.
  • Knowledge of HRIS and Applicant Tracking Systems, preferably Workday and Sterling.
  • Knowledge of Human Resources procedures and policies, as well as city, state, and federal laws and guidelines.
  • Strong presentation skills to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals.
  • Advanced knowledge of HRIS with a demonstrated ability to learn new technical systems.
  • Ability to source candidates from job boards and professional websites and support recruitment efforts.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
