**Overview**
Jensen Hughes has a new position for an Analyst, Investigations to join our Chicago team. The position Conduct research and analysis on due diligence and other types of investigations. Help direct the team's researchers. Work in a hybrid office/remote environment for Jensen Hughes, Security Risk Consulting a rapidly growing global consulting firm in our downtown Chicago Office. Report directly to the Team Lead for the practice, with a focus on complex due diligence investigations, but work in close collaboration with our practice groups across the realm of security risk consulting to include law enforcement, security risk management, private client family offices and threat violence risk management.
The position must be local to Chicago. Once a candidate has acclimated, there is a possibility on a hybrid schedule which may include work 1-2 days remote each week while going into the downtown office other dates.
**Responsibilities**
+ Conduct multiple due-diligence investigations, often with the help of a researcher or other team members
+ Engage with clients on their investigative needs and provide advice on how to approach their concerns
+ Verify and fact check employment information, academic and professional licenses
+ Search for, identify and review criminal records, civil lawsuits, press reports and public data
+ Compare self-reported information with other records
+ Develop relationships with document retrieval companies
+ Create and maintain detailed descriptions of investigative searches and methods
+ Understand database coverage gaps
+ Keep current on public records resources in the U.S.
+ Stay up to date on social media platforms and open-source investigation techniques
+ Prepare well-written documentation of investigative findings
+ Advise clients on key concerns
+ Project manage investigations to ensure work is completed on time and within budget
**Qualifications**
+ Ideal candidate education/experience: a bachelor's degree and 3+ years of relevant experience; or an associate's degree and five years of relevant experience; or four years of military service with extensive analytical training
+ Able to conceptualize, apply, analyze and evaluate data and information, and turn it into actionable investigative findings
+ Proven fluency navigating investigative research methodologies, including the use of a wide array of online public records portals, use of on-site systems in municipal courthouses and agencies, and the use of subscription databases (e.g., Lexis, Westlaw, PACER, TLO, Accurint).
+ Ease with constructing complex search strings and use of Boolean operators for database research
+ Familiarity with U.S. public records sources, courts, licensing, property records, corporate records and other similar records
