Robert Half Finance is looking for an ambitious, eager Director of Finance to join the team at a well-respected company. In this leadership position, you will drive the organization's financial operations and improve financial performance. As the Director of Finance, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting functions, assessing accounting and internal control systems, setting financial targets, developing financial strategy, monitoring expenditures, overseeing annual insurance, monitoring cash flow, and managing tax compliance. As per the client, the candidate must be based out of Atlanta or Charlotte.
Director of Finance Responsibilities
  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis
  • Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings collections, and payroll
  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
  • Review deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
  • Evaluate, implement and streamline policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
  • Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
  • Manage the production of budgets and forecasts and monitor them monthly
  • Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
  • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners
  • Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
  • Ensure timely cash collection by driving the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

  • 5+ years of general ledger accounting experience
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, tendency to quickly connect dots and surmise logical outcomes
  • Crucial accounting experience
  • Proficient in enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • CPA certification a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
  • Quality experience with analysis
  • Month-end Reports experience preferred
  • Well-founded grasp of Actual Variance Analysis
  • Deep understanding of Month-end Journal Entries
  • Month-end Close Activities experience
  • Wide ranging experience with Data Analysis
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
