Job Description  Type of Opportunity: Full Time FTE: 1.000000 Exempt: No Work Schedule: Varied Days and Hours

CVOR OR Tech:

Provides assistance and support to surgeons by preparing and providing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures in the Operating Room

CVOR Certified Surgical Tech:Provides assistance and support to the surgical team by preparing and providing instruments and equipment during surgical procedures in the operating room under the direction of a registered nurse and / or performs specific support-procedures for the operation of a Nursing or Clinical Department



Responsibilities

CVOR OR Tech:

*Evaluates and coordinates activities during surgical procedures by anticipating surgeons needs and necessary supplies.*Scrub In and assist surgeons with various types of surgical procedures by maintaining current knowledge of various procedures and supplies.*Adheres to proper surgical procedures of aseptic technique and safety in the use of instruments and equipment.*Maintains an accurate count of sponges, needles, and instruments. Gathers supplies and instruments and assemble before procedures.*Autoclaves instrument trays as required.*Ensures that specimens are correctly handled and routed to the proper source.*Maintains current knowledge of anatomy/physiology and medications used intraoperatively.*Keeps current with developments in the field through participation in seminars, workshops and publications.*Assists in maintaining the quality assessment program developed for the department

Qualifications

CVOR OR Tech:

* High School Diploma or GED Required

High school plus specialized, short-term training in operating room setting. Prefer certification in scrubbing.

One to three years of CVOR experience preferred. Formal scrub training highly preferred. Requires knowledge of basic sterile technique and anatomy in terms of what is to be done and an understanding of how it is to be done. This staff member must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served

CVOR Certified Surgical Tech:

* High School Diploma or GED Required

* Certified Surgical Technician Required

High school plus specialized, short-term training in operating room setting. Certification in scrubbing. One to three years CVOR experience preferred.Formal scrub training required.
