Location: Rockford, IL area
Company: Automotive Manufacturing / Assembly client
DIRECT HIRE: Full Time with paid benefits from Company
Pay + OT: hourly ...$30.30/hr to start + OT at Time And Half
OT: time and a half pay
Travel: 0%-5% for training
Openings: 1
Shift: 2nd shift
Hours / Days: 4pm 1am or 5pm 2am) Monday Friday and Saturday as needed by Chrysler (client)
Reports to: IT Manager
Qualification: Must pass a PLC qualification test prior to interviewing

Specific Job duties:

To perform this job successfully; an individual must be able to perform each specific duty satisfactorily.   • Required to support production and maintenance teams by Troubleshooting Debugging any automation code that is causing downtime. In addition, an Automation Tech will be required to only recommend changes to Automation code to Automation Engineers.

  • Required to perform PM on automation and IT equipment as scheduled by the Maintenance Manager.

  • Expected to participate in a Training Program (Available to travel for training)

  • Attend any training session, class, or seminar as deemed necessary by the Maintenance Manager. (Maintenance Manager will adjust knowledge requirement as automation skill needs change.)

  • Required to actively participate and sometimes champion automation projects as assigned by the maintenance manager. These projects will be based on Communication Protocols / PLC / Electronics / Wiring / Robotic Programming.

  • Able to read electrical prints to support breakdown and projects. (Test to be given)

  • Conduct basic research to suggest automation solutions to the Maintenance Manager on process issues.

  • Work in concert with IT & Manufacturing engineers to ensure machine operate with the MES. Assist IT in troubleshooting communication issue between IT and Automation devices.

  • Assists in writing troubleshooting guides for maintenance functions.

  • Executes automation audits on programs (PM items specific to automation devices)

  • Conducts floor level training to Production/Maintenance/IT on new equip

  • Flexible Shift Based on Department Manager's Needs. Must be able to support weekend production

  • Tasked with designing and constructing of E.O.A.T. (Molding Only)

  • Complete and communicate end of shift notes including issues seen on the floor and project completion updates.

  • Visibly leads and supports all Company goals as set forth in objectives and targets.



Educational Requirements:


  • Must be able to show basic competence in maintenance skills. (Hydraulic, Pneumatic, Mechanical, Electrical).

  • Proficient in PLC troubleshooting.

  • Journeyman card is a plus.

  • Electrical Classes (Controls, Programming, and Robotics.... etc.) is a plus.



Related Work Experience:


  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a field of maintenance.

  • Basic understanding of principles used in multi-axis robotic systems, conveyor transport systems

  • Basic knowledge or experience of automated equipment installation process.

  • Demonstrated oral and written communication skills; customer focused

  • Personal computer skills

  • Understanding of manufacturing, assembly, sequencing and equipment principles

  • Relative experience is acceptable in lieu of education.
