About this position:  

Create and manage overall test schedules for test staff

Support analysis of noise and vibration concerns by determining root cause and proposing countermeasures

Prepare and issue test reports/summaries to various levels of management teams

Monitor mass production sampling results to determine when corrective action is needed

Update test manuals, test modes, equipment as new models are being developed

Your responsibilities:  

Perform instrumentation setup and conduct data acquisition with test equipment

Perform transmission assembly bench dyno testing and full vehicle testing for noise and vibration

Analyze test results, summarize data, prepare evaluation reports and propose countermeasures

Provide support to manufacturing departments as needed for noise problem analysis

Lead a group of test staff to support daily testing activities

Manage overall test schedules for mass production sampling and new model development testing

Support equipment maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting

Support development and maturation of new test modes as needed

What you need to be successful in the role 

High mechanical aptitude (hands-on)

Extensive knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Ppt)

Able to read and understand engineering drawings

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Able to work independently and as a team to perform individual tasks to complete project activity

Understanding of automobile automatic transmission function

Experience with data acquisition and sensors

Experience with Siemens Simcenter TestLab (LMS)

Knowledge of VBA Macros within Excel

Required Work Experience: 

Engineering co-op/internship in automotive or related industry

Preference for experience in testing and/or data acquisition

Required Education: 

BS in Engineering

A few other important details: 

Environment associate will work in:  Office / test areas / production

Estimated amount of overtime:  5-10 hours per week

Frequency and duration of travel:  Approximately 1 week per 3 months; approximately 3 months for training in the first year
