Job Description

Development Associate - Full Time

MAJOR FUNCTION: The Development Associate is responsible for assisting in fund raising for 211 Palm Beach and Treasure Coast through fundraising events and other fund development activities. Perform administrative duties including data entry, thank you letters and spreadsheet update.

REPORTS TO: Director of Development and Community Relations

CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Reporting to the Director of Development and Community Relations the incumbent will assist the Director in developing and implementing a 211 Help Line Development Plan including special events and other fund development activities.


  1. Administrative duties includes all data entry, thank you letters, and spreadsheet update.

Responsible for preparing, generating, and analyzing donor reports from the donor

Management system to help inform decision making around donor stewardship efforts

(Calls, meetings, etc).

  1. Donor stewardship: responsible for creating and maintaining systems for meaningful and ongoing communications with donors and prospects.


  1. The incumbent will touch base with event committees to ensure planning and development goals are being met and members are held accountable for their promises.


  1. When needed represent the agency as a member of community, civic, and/or professional organizations related to fundraising.


  1. Develop relationships with local businesses and corporations as it relates to fundraising events and sponsorships.


  1. Secure sponsorships, auction items and tickets sales for the agency's fundraising events.


  1. Identifies and recruits individuals appropriate to serve on fundraising committees.


  1. In conjunction with the Director of Development and Community Relations the incumbent will develop and execute a cultivation plan for new and existing donors.


  1. Other duties as assigned.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Physical Requirements
  1. Sufficient sight to read extensively and have the ability to decipher the entire color spectrum and to use the computer with or without accommodation.
  2. Sufficient hearing and speaking ability to be able to communicate over the phone with staff, board, other professionals, and before groups with or without accommodation.
  3. Sufficient manual dexterity and strength to fold, organize, package, lift and carry materials weighing up to thirty (30) pounds with or without accommodation.
  4. Ability to travel throughout a multi-county area with or without accommodation.


Education/Training
  1. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. (Preferred)
  2. Experience working with volunteers.
  3. Experience related to fund raising events and donor development.
  4. Two years local experience in the field can substitute for the degree.
  5. Strong administrative skills


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  1. Familiar with Donor Processing Systems.
  2. Able to work well under pressure.
  3. Ability to write and speak in an organized and effective manner.
  4. Self-starter, project management skills and experience.
  5. Possess the qualities of enthusiasm, initiative, creativity, integrity, and assertiveness.
  6. Knowledge of advanced word processing (Microsoft Windows Suite), databases and general computer skills.
  7. Good attendance and punctuality required.
