The CAD Designer, Print and Pattern primary responsibility is the development of print and pattern designs that align with the Southern Tide brand and translate into sales. The CAD Designer, Print and Pattern should be artistically skilled and bring new ideas to the design team and meet product development requirements and calendar. The CAD Designer, Print and Pattern will need to balance creativity while being organized. The position will primarily focus on print designs but include other surface designs, color development, and special off cadence projects and chase opportunities. The print and pattern designs must be consistent with the market positioning of Southern Tide and support the overall product strategy.

Crew Position:

  • Create and develop factory read prints, pattern and graphics by researching markets to identify new opportunities. Includes the creation of proper repeats of patterns and cleaning artwork.
  • Work closely with the Design Director on print development ahead of the season including early color palette development, concepts and print trends.
  • Assist the Design Director of Print and Pattern in determining opportunities and needs in the print assortment.
  • Design and/or edit engaging apparel graphics based on seasonal assortments across all channels. Determine graphic, techniques, colors, layouts, scale and placement.
  • Shop the market and trend services for print and pattern ideas and layouts that can be adapted to the seasonal line.
  • Prepare CAD print outs, boards and set up for presentations.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to collaborate, build and grow the businesses.
  • Balance multiple seasons at once and prioritize workload according to calendars and seasonal timelines.
  • Execute of graphic design projects, including but not limited to apparel, gifts with purchase (GWP), labels, hangtags, accessories, and other skipjack gear.

Who we would like to meet:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Art, Design or related field required.
  • Generally, 4+ years in textile, graphic (apparel) or print design.
  • Proficient in CAD software including Ned Graphics, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and One Note).
  • Strong understanding of woven designs.
  • Ability to view and differentiate the color spectrum.
