Alabama Clinical Schools is an 80-bed facility, which provides a specific therapeutic milieu for sexually abusive youth. Treatment is based upon the individual needs of each youth. Rational Behavior training methods of intervention are used with elements of Cognitive-Behavioral theory to assist individuals in changing their thinking patterns, emotions, and behavioral responses.   At Alabama Clinical Schools we believe early intervention is extremely important to help sexually abusive youth achieve successful outcomes. Relapse prevention skills are developed to assist our clients with identifying abuse cycles as well as adapting to high risk situations with learned and practiced coping skills. The involvement of family members and/or an identified support system is another essential component of treatment.

We are currently seeking energetic and dynamic applicants for the position of Mental Health Associate, Third Shift.   

The Mental Health Associate provides appropriate supervision of youth, accurate and timely documentation regarding resident's progress in treatment. Strong verbal de-escalation skills a must. Fulltime, 4-day workweek. Primarily 11pm to 7:30am three days per week, plus 9pm-9:30am every other Saturday and Sunday (off every other weekend). Full benefits. Pay based on education and experience.

New hires must be able to attend 2 weeks of New Employee Orientation (ALL classes required) on day shift, normally 8:30am - 4:30pm Monday through Friday. 

Full-time Mental Health Associates on 3rd shift get $200 BONUS paid after successfully completing 90 days, and another $200 BONUS paid after successfully completing 6 months! 

Job Requirements

Associate degree in psychology, social work, education, criminal justice, or related mental health field (may substitute 2+ years experience in a mental health/behavioral health setting)

Strong verbal de-escalation skills and the ability to safely perform physical management techniques and crisis intervention 

One year experience in a mental/behavioral health setting preferred

Successfully pass background screen (includes criminal history, Child Abuse and Neglect Registry, and ABI/FBI fingerprint check) and drug testing 

Must be dependable, organized with efficient time management skills, and demonstrate good communication skills
