Lead position for Experienced Caregiver

Incredicare Fairfax, VA (Onsite) Full-Time

Join our team as a lead Caregiver. Help lead, teach and mentor new caregivers. Encourage and teach the values of our agency to new caregivers. Assist office staff with admin tasks, visit client homes in all service areas, and coach caregiving skills to staff. Some weekend shifts are required. Leads must be able to assist or work with all types of clients and in all home environments.

Responsibilities:

  1. Help with ambulation and mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
  2. Assist with personal care and hygiene
  3. Help with completion of physical therapy and other recommended exercises
  4. Complete shopping or accompany community members when they shop if needed
  5. Perform light housekeeping duties that community members can’t complete on their own, including preparing meals
  6. Collect information about conditions and treatment plans from caregivers, nurses, doctors, and family members
  7. Report any unusual incidents to nurses, doctors, and family members
  8. Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
  9. Clean and disinfect frequently touched areas, including changing bed sheets

Requirements:

  1. Previous caregiver experience required
  2. Current CPR (American Heart Association) Certification
  3. Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards, including those outlined by the CDC in relation to COVID-19
  4. Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking with attention to dietary constraints
  5. Must be respectful and compassionate with a good bedside manner
  6. Outstanding communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
  7. Physical endurance to complete required tasks
  8. Access to reliable transportation and a valid driver's license
  9. High school diploma or equivalent
  10. Smartphone for logging notes and time
  11. Driver’s License and insured vehicle for errands and appointments
