Assembly Technician II (6 months Contract to Hire)
Responsibilities:
  • Proficiently perform the duties of Assembly Tech I and in addition:
  • Test some assembled product.
  • Maintain expertise in troubleshooting techniques.
  • Demonstrate intermediate technical knowledge of electro-mechanical assembly processes while building to a defined manufacturing quality and labor standard.
  • Provide some on-the job training (OJT) and assistance to lesser-skilled technicians.
  • Set up and adjust equipment and systems in support of mission-related tasking.
  • Performs technical support at customer location as needed.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Required Skills:
  • Enhanced fabrication knowledge of complex, military-grade cable assemblies (i.e. shielding termination techniques, multi-legged breakouts, cable form boards).
  • Intermediate experience with reading mechanical prints and wiring diagrams.
  • IPC J-STD-001 certification strongly preferred (current or expired).
  • Complete familiarity with IPC/WHMA-A-620 to include but not limited to:
  • Mil-spec connectors (both solder and crimp)
  • Solder cup terminations
  • Solder Sleeves
  • Familiarity with IPC-A-610 to include but not limited to:
  • SMT and Through-hole component terminations
  • Wire-to-board terminations (i.e. through-hole, turret, post)
  • Capability to work under magnification
  • Experience with epoxy/adhesives
  • Experience with torqueing hardware
  • Education/knowledge requirments:
  • Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent
  • Apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty strongly preferred
  • Soldering/crimping experience required
  • 2 - 4 years of experience in a related field or area required
  • Some computer proficiency required
