Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Maintenance Superintendent
Maintenance Superintendent
Must haves:
Ammonia Refrigeration
PLC Trouble shooting (Programming HIGHLY preferred)
Food manufacturing (USDA preferred)

5 day work week/1st shift. Eligible for 6th & 7th day pay, if called in.

Maintenance Superintendent will be responsible for writing routings/manufacturing instructions.
• Manage the successful transition of new products and technology into the production arena.
• Write appropriation requests and prepare quotes.
• Participate in concurrent engineering design reviews.
• Evaluate and approve drawings, routings/MIs, specs and other documents.
• Design and procure tools/equipment.
• Process development and documentation of manufacturing work instructions.
• Support prototyping activities of new product development.
• Evaluate and solve production problems.
• Provide input for the department’s annual budget and assist with the planning and scheduling of all budgeted projects
• Provide input and direction to supervisors
•Partner with all departments to make the Engineering department a positive influence on quality, productivity, efficiency and up-time.
•Optimize inventory to reduce costs, while maintaining proper parts availability and insure that all Enterprise Asset Management System functions are adhered to.
•Assist in interviewing and selection process for the hiring of new personnel in the Engineering Department.
•Manage production operations including all activities of the shop floor and follow established procedures and approved processes.
•Work 26 weekends per year

• Oversee manufacturing operations from an Engineering viewpoint.
• Hiring, training and direct supervision of maintenance personnel.

•Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
•Must have knowledge of machining and assembly practices.
•Ability to work with vendors, customers, and employees.
•Must excel at working in a team environment.
•Must be familiar with product construction and application.
•Must have complete knowledge of production scheduling and shop operations.
•This position requires that the person be a highly organized individual, who is self-motivated, and can work independently.
•Must have very strong leadership skills, with excellent oral and written communication skills, including group presentations.
•Must be able to manage multiple tasks and or priorities and easily adapt to changing situations.
•Will be computer literate, particularly in shop floor control, production planning, and inventory control applications.

•Five years’ experience in manufacturing engineering or a commensurate level of experience with related products.
•High school diploma
•Extensive knowledge in the following areas:
Electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics, interpersonal skills, and be able to utilize all available resources to maximize effectiveness of the Engineering team.
