Electrical Engineer 

Company Overview:

Biosonix has been in business since 2012, and shares a state-of-the-art building with our sister company, Biomerics. Conveniently located near the Salt Lake International Airport in Salt Lake City, UT. Biosonix specializes in the design, development and manufacturing of ultrasonic and other medical devices. We have expertise in medical systems using both high and low power ultrasonic and other energy sources.

Summary:

We have an opening for an Electrical Engineer to join our growing team. The Electrical Engineer reports to the Vice President of Engineering. The Electrical Engineer performs a variety of tasks in support of Engineering Development, Transfer to Production and Production Support.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Design PCBAs for sensor applications, ultrasonic drivers and other medical devices
  • Design Test electronic circuits and fixtures
  • Troubleshoot circuits to determine failure modes or problems
  • Document PCBA schematics, assembly and board layout
  • Write documents to support the above as required by the quality system
  • Write test software for production testing
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Understanding of theory and practice of digital and analog circuits
  • Experience laying out or overseeing the layout of printed circuit boards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication & leadership skills.
  • One to three years of Electrical Engineering experience
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in the fundamentals of Electrical Engineering
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel (Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs) and other standard documentation programs

 

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Three - Five years' experience in a related field
  • Medical Device experience is preferred
  • M.S. degree in Electrical Engineering or other related field
