Job Description

SolidWorks Design Engineer

Duties of Design Engineer

  • Utilize SolidWorks (3D) and AutoCAD (2D) software to create conceptual designs, assemblies & Bills Of Material, or revise existing designs from system files and databases equipment drawings, specifications, and other pertinent engineering data.
  • Perform design & create detailed drawings required for skid assemblies, frames, piping systems, parts, etc. in accordance with sales order specifications and design technology to provide a high quality, successfully operating installation shipped by the assigned delivery date.
  • Assist in the development or revision of system P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Diagrams), pneumatic and hydraulic schematics and basic process flow diagrams utilizing SolidWorks/AutoCAD software.
  • Provide mechanical engineering technical support to internal and external sales, engineering, and service groups.
  • Provide hands-on testing and inspections in assembly shop as needed to verify functionality of assemblies or parts designed.
  • Assist with the development and/or revisions of technical data sheets as needed for procurement from vendors or sub-suppliers.

Job Requirements

Requirements of Design Engineer

  • Minimum three (3) years of design experience, preferably in an engineering environment working with piping & skid systems.
  • Experience with skid design, incorporating tanks, reactors, process instrumentation, valves, pumps.
  • Proven proficiency in SolidWorks 3D design, including large assemblies.
  • Working knowledge of fabrication and machining manufacturing procedures and tolerances.
  • Experience in piping, skid system design with understanding of Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
