Company is looking for a self-motivated Senior Director of Technical Revenue Accounting to manage the coordination of our technical evaluation of revenue and related policies, preparation and oversight of revenue reporting for internal stakeholders, and oversight of SOX and audit compliance for the global revenue team.  

Key focus areas: Revenue Recognition, Software Accounting, Auditor Interaction, Stakeholder Management, Time Zone Support, Processes, Procedures, and Compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation of the revenue accounting for current and contemplated contractual arrangements under ASC 606
  • Development and monitoring of accounting policy matters impacting revenue recognition
  • Review and analyze new accounting pronouncements impacting revenue to determine impact on the Company and, when applicable, assist with the implementation of new standards
  • Work closely with members of accounting, legal, investor relations, FP&A, and internal and external auditors
  • Perform variance analysis of key revenue streams and provide commentary on significant fluctuations for revenue dependent accounts in the Company's balance sheet, income statement and cash flow statement, including supporting the preparation of the MD&A commentary on the Company's Results of Operations within the Company's SEC filings.
  • Develop and implement improved business processes and control activities to ensure timely internal and external revenue reporting
  • Develop and administer training on revenue recognition and the Company’s revenue policies to the global revenue team on a recurring basis
  • Assist in managing internal and external audits over revenue
  • Manage SOX compliance effort over the revenue process
  • Assist IT in the testing and deployment of applications that impact revenue recognition
  • Administer and streamline use of RevPro, NetSuite and other information systems for revenue transactions
  • Assist in compliance with other external statutory reporting requirements
  • Ad hoc special projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or relevant field
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience with at least 4 years at a Big 4 accounting firm
  • CPA
  • Subject matter expert in ASC 606
  • SaaS/tech experience (preferred)
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong multi-tasking skills and flexibility to switch from one project to the next
  • Highly collaborative with the ability to effectively manage cross-functional projects
