JOB PROFILE

Working in a team environment, the Business Analyst will work in tandem or alone to analyze the business partners' operations to understand their strengths and weaknesses to determine opportunities to solve business and technical issues. Will develop business requirements into technical stories and seek out areas for operational improvements. The Business Analyst will also involve the implementation and integration of products, new features, or new businesses.

A desire to work in a cooperative environment and a proven track record of delivering solutions combined with leadership in resolving issues are essential. In addition, at times provide hands-on technical solutions through reports or program development.

The Business Analyst will lead the assessing, designing, and implementing processes and systems within the Human Resource team. The Business Analyst will also support the process, people, and systems that have been identified as part of HR Transformation work. This role will partner with others to perform activities that support multiple project teams, including participating in business discovery and solution workshops, leading break-out sessions with subject matter experts, collaboratively creating project deliverables, and documenting business processes, including process flow diagrams, task detail sheets, and procedure level documentation. They will also independently lead smaller business casing and assessment projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work hand in hand with Human Resources business subject matter experts (SMEs) to understand the needs of business and translate them into recommendations for process improvements. Analyze stakeholder needs, identify gaps, identify risks, and define capabilities for an acceptable solution to the business problem Derive and document all requirements regarding reporting, integration, data conversion, compliance, and control required for a process. Assist Human Resources SME in the design of the process. Model and document business and user requirements in user stories, workflows, processes, and business rules using other industry-standard techniques. Partner with HR's Business Process Analyst and Project Managers. Document the functional and, sometimes, non-functional requirements of the system. Interact with system architects and developers to ensure the system is properly implemented and validate that user stories have been implemented properly. Validate unit test results executed by SMEs and or other design partners. Develop documentation to support implementation and execution plans. Manage assigned issues and prioritization lists. Coordinate various ad-hoc reporting, data collection, and research and analysis duties to support project decisions. Challenge the status quo to extend current thinking beyond basic business requirements and help identify opportunities for process optimization and automation.

EDUCATION:

BS in Information Systems, Computer Science, or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE:
  • Must possess very strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Must have experience with Workday or similar HRIS products
  • Must have 5+ years working in HR or a related business environment
  • Experience with business process reengineering initiatives; modeling and analyzing (as-is/to-be) processes, mapping primary and exception workflows, and identifying business rules is required
  • Experience with data analysis required
  • Experience with automated workflow solutions is preferred
  • Experience developing training curriculum and material is a plus
