Co. is a metal stamping facility
Pay rate: $25 - 35/hr (pay rate includes 10% shift prem.), based on experience
SUMMARY:
Must be able to run all toolroom machinery, must also be able to do extensive die maintenance and upgrade tooling of all sorts, must be able to work with others on trouble shooting production concerns, must also be able to build new tooling such as dies, fixtures, gages, etc.
Skills:
Must have a strong background on understanding die theory and trouble shooting. Must be able to run all toolroom equipment, perform under production requirements, read prints and run precision equipment.
DUTIES:
Maintains and upgrades fixtures and gages.
Performs general die maintenance such as sharpening, repairing and/or replacing details, grinding form steels, timing dies correctly, and modifying tools to current standards.
Makes decisions and judgments about proper course of action for repairs and maintenance.
Maintains good safety and housekeeping practices.
Demonstrates good short and long term decision making in these areas:
Pressroom trouble shooting.
Diagnosis of problems and course of action.
Toolroom repair and maintenance work and, machining practices.
Promotes teamwork and shows a willingness to work well in other departments.
Maintains written die log books.
Die Repair Crane Equipment: 40 Ton Crane with Gantry Side by Side – Radio Controls
Type of Dies: Prog and Transfer, range from 30 X 20 inch Prog to 250 Plus Inch Long X 96 Wide Transfer, current Material Challenge Include High Strength Steel Seating Components
Press Line = 300 Ton to 2000 Ton
- 300 to 500 Ton = Toolmakers do make hits, Pending training.
- Transfer Presses 800 -1600 -2000 Ton. Toolmakers do not make hits
- 1600 / 2000 Ton = Roll Out Bolster
- Atlas Transfers on 1600 – 2000 Ton
- Wayne Trail on 800 Ton
Tool Room Conditions:
- 1 Crane 40 Ton Crane Shared – Hard Hats Worn While using Crane
- Must be Able to Lift 40 lbs.
- Must Wear a Mask Until Further Notice – Throughout Plant
Physical: This position requires long hours of standing and walking as well as lifting up to 40 pounds.
Working Conditions - non-exempt position. This job involves a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of working Saturday or Sundays.
Education: High school diploma or GED
Hours:
Day shift: 7AM - 3:30PM
Afternoon shift: 3:30PM - 12AM
10% shift prem. offered when going direct at 90 days
Some OT avail.
