Financial Analyst

The Financial Analyst is responsible for reporting financial status by preparing and analyzing financial plans, forecasts, and reports.

Essential Job Functions:

Determines financial status by comparing and analyzing plans and forecasts with actual results.

•Improves financial status by analyzing results and variances; identifying trends; recommending actions.

•Assist with the consolidated forecasting process and own portions of the financial forecast models, including P&L, cash flow, and supporting schedules/analyses.  Ensure their quality, timeliness, and accuracy.

•P&L reporting of actual vs. plan, prior year, and current forecast.

•Prepare monthly performance reporting by division/department.

•Analyze department expenses and derive journal entry accruals, reclasses on monthly basis as needed

•Assist with the preparation of Senior Management presentations/meetings (Monthly Business Reviews, Board of Directors meetings, forecast review meetings, etc.).

•Help measure ROI of company initiatives.

•Conduct ad hoc analyses.

•Support the creation of the annual and multi-year strategic plan.

•Work to streamline and constantly improve financial processes.

•Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This job has no direct supervisory responsibilities.  Role may indirectly mentor/coach other finance resources.


•Ability to work in a fast paced, challenging environment, where priorities change quickly and demands are high

•Proven written and oral communication and ability to interface with senior management

•Strong attention to detail

•Ability to analyze quantitative and qualitative information and translate into strategic deliverables


•Prior finance experience support corporate departments a plus, but not required

Education and/or Experience:

•1 to 3 years previous experience in finance/accounting roles with heavy emphasis on financial planning and analysis deliverables (Budgeting, Forecasting, Month End Close, Staff Capacity Planning) strongly preferred

•Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting with demonstrated academic achievement, MBA or Masters in Finance preferred.

•Advanced Excel skills (financial analyses/modeling)

•Proficient in Word and PowerPoint

•English: Fluent
