Organizational Change Management Project Manager - Strategic Initiatives (Houston)

Description

The Change Management Project Manager will play a key role in building the change management capability at Burns & McDonnell. This person will be responsible for building and supporting the change competencies of leaders at all levels of the organization. This position is located on-site in our Houston office.

The Change Management Project Manager will focus on the people side of change including changes to culture, job roles, organizational structures, and business processes, systems & technology. This includes creating and implementing change management strategies and plans to maximize employee adoption & usage and minimize the resistance of change initiatives. The goal of the Change Management Project Managers work is to increase benefit realization, value creation, ROI, and the achievement of intended results and outcomes of organizational changes.

  • Coach, support and engage leaders as they serve as sponsors of change.

  • Partner with leadership to help foster a culture of accountability, trust, recognition, and results among staff at all levels consistent business objectives.

  • Develop and maintain organization change portfolio with data analysis and reports. The goal to bring visibility, understanding and data to allow executives to make better informed decisions about the prioritization and timing of change initiatives based on how the organization will be impacted by change initiatives.

  • Develop and facilitate competency-building workshops for all levels of the organization.

  • Apply a structured change management methodology to create and lead change management work for initiatives

  • Assess the change impacts and risks

  • Create change management strategy

  • Identify and manage anticipated resistance

  • Identify, analyze, and prepare risk mitigation tactics

  • Create actionable deliverables for communication, sponsorship, training, people managers, success metrics, and resistance management planning

  • Integrate change management activities into project plans

  • Evaluate and ensure stakeholder readiness

  • Track and report risks and issues.

  • Consult and coach change management practitioners and project teams on change management principles and methodology.

  • Support organizational design with definition of roles and responsibilities

  • Define and measure success metrics and monitor change progress

  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in communications, business, organization development, social sciences, or related field.

  • Minimum 7 years of related professional experience.

  • Requires well-developed and highly effective listening, communication, presentation, and persuasive skills, including the ability to receive, process and present both strategic and tactical information to diverse audiences while maintaining effective, collaborative relationships with all stakeholders including senior leaders, outside organizations, management, staff, and vendors.

  • Experience with large-scale organizational change efforts (ERP preferred) and familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies, and tools. Change Management certification or designation. Prosci Certification preferred

  • Demonstrated computer proficiency including experience using MS Office applications

  • This position is in our Houston office with up to 20% travel
