Candidate should have interest in learning the following technology:

1. Architecting, designing, developing solutions using the ElasticStack 7.x+(Elasticsearch, Logstash and Kibana) -- not limited to but including analytics and machine learning
2. Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS)
3. Amazon Web Services (contract funded training is offered)

Candidate should have appropriate level expertise in the following:

1. Hands on Java development, Junit testing and issue troubleshooting
2. Experience leading design and implementation of new stories and bug fixes
3. Demonstrated experience in SQL and writing complex queries with joins and aggregate that deals with large datasets.
4. Experience performing thorough design reviews and code reviews
5. Experience working in an Agile based development environment, using Agile concepts
6. Understanding and comfort with Java enterprise frameworks for dependency injection, object relational mapping and logging (Spring Framework, Hibernate, MicroService Architecture)
7. Familiarity with Build Management, Continuous Integration, and Automated Testing (Maven, GitLab)
8. CRDL Delivery (Monthly Status Reports, Version Description Documents, Software Test Plans, Agile Sprint Plan)

MANDATORY SKILLS: Individual Capabilities Required:

1. Fourteen (14) years experience as a SWE in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required.
2. Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
3. Five (5) years experience leading and managing technical project task on a program or project of similar, scope, type and complexity is required.
4. Experience applying agile development while maintaining smart and effective sprint cycles meeting timely deliverables
5. Provide deliverables that maintain overall programmatic and technical requirements of the project
6. Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements
7. Debug existing software and correct defects
8. Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
9. Design and code new software or modify existing software to add new features
10. Integrate existing software into new or modified systems or operating environments
11. Develop simple data queries for existing or proposed databases or data repositories
12. Write or review software and system documentation
13. Serve as team lead at the level appropriate to the software development process being used on any particular project
14. Design or implement complex database or data repository interfaces/queries
15. Develop or implement algorithms to meet or exceed system performance and functional standards
16. Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components
17. Develop software solutions by analyzing system performance standards, confer with users or system engineers; analyze systems flow, data usage and work processes; and investigate problem areas
18. Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt to new hardware, or to improve its performance
19. Design, develop and modify software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design
20. Design or implement complex algorithms requiring adherence to strict timing, system resource, or interface constraints; Perform quality control on team products
21. Implement recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards
22. Oversee one or more software development teams and ensure the work is completed in accordance with the constraints of the software development process being used on any particular project
23. Confer with system engineers and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces
24. Coordinate software system installation and monitor equipment functioning to ensure operational specifications are met
