**Job Description:**

The Senior Director, Digital Strategy & Planning is responsible for defining, developing, and overseeing the implementation of strategies and programs related to digital/photo planning and analysis, digital promotional effectiveness and site optimization, and merchandising programs. Aligns strategic roadmaps for key merchandising initiatives with enterprise priorities, while ensuring buy-in from key stakeholders. Responsible for defining the short and long term financial goals and budgets for the Digital Strategic Planning & Analysis area. Leads the Profit & Loss (P&L) review process with Finance and executes forecasts that accurately predict sales, customer acquisition costs and other key metrics. Outcomes directed have a significant impact on the organization's short- and long-term results, specific customers and/or partners. Decisions have significant impact on the organization.

**Job Responsibilities :**

+ Defines financial goals, leads the P&L review process and budget/forecast creation, while ensuring alignment with enterprise strategies.

+ Leads digital business to exceed sales and margin plans; provides direction on sales / profit and approves spend.

+ Defines, develops, and oversees the implementation of strategies and programs related to digital/photo planning and analysis, digital promotional effectiveness and site optimization, and merchandising. Ensures a seamless experience for customers online and in store.

+ Defines priorities for digital business, promotional functionality and key category programs, while ensuring achievable and measurable action plans.

+ Develops strategic plans to achieve goals and support company objectives, including pricing, promo, assortment, supplier funding, and marketing strategies as well as inventory position.

+ Envisions and provides high level direction on the strategic analysis related to overall performance, category trends, and customer insights; oversees overall reporting and root cause analysis related to digital business.

+ Directs analysis related to promotion optimization and effectiveness of digital promotions and vehicles.

+ Guides advanced data needs for digital business and ensures reporting / analytic infrastructure in place.

+ Plans promotions and campaign themes across multiple digital channels, including onsite and in email and guides decisions on how themes and promotions come to life online and in creative assets.

+ Influences cross functional teams on placements and marketing of store promotions in digital channels, as well as instore experience around digital promotional vehicles.

+ Accountable for website A/B testing strategy and monetization partnerships.

+ Accountable for planning of promotions and campaign themes across multiple digital channels, including onsite and in email. Oversees intake, coordination, and execution of supplier funded digital campaigns onsite.

+ Responsible for key programs that cross digital and instore, including In store Online Ordering, Ship to Store, and Same Day Delivery; defines roadmap priorities, builds business cases, and measures results; works closely with store operations to drive communication and execution in store.

+ Defines priorities to bring key category programs to life online to tie in with store experience.

+ Ensures the ongoing training and development of direct reports. Develops and mentors staff through on boarding, open communication, training and development opportunities and performance management processes; builds and maintains employee morale and motivation; ensures the team is appropriately staffed with required competencies; fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace.

**External Basic Qualifications:**

+ Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of digital merchandising/merchandising operations experience OR a high school diploma/GED and at least 11 years of digital merchandising/merchandising operations experience.

+ Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with individuals at all levels of the organization, including the executive level.

+ Experience developing and communicating strategic initiatives that align with business goals and budget.

+ Experience identifying operational issues, recommending, and implementing strategies to resolve problems.

+ Experience leading cross functional teams in a matrix organization.

+ Experience interacting and influencing others, including the executive level.

+ At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.

+ At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.

+ Willing to travel up to/at least 15% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

**Preferred Qualifications:**

+ Master's degree / MBA.

+ Knowledge of retail technology trends.

+ Experience participating or leading financial forecasting, budgeting, financial model development processes.
