Job Description

Seeking a Master Planner Material Management for a 3+ year assignment in West Point, PA or Rahway, NJ. Pay Rate: $27.50/hr Master Planning:  Materials Transfer Specialist:

  • Thorough understanding of the Material Transfer Process and its relationship with other critical business interfaces
  • Global Management of Material Transfers. Ability to independently monitor and manage all transfers assigned from issuing to release
  • Ability to manage Material Transfer at the appropriate level of detail
  • Gain alignment with Demand / Supply Planning on Material Transfers Plans
  • Primary interface with Planning, Logistics, Relationship Management and Quality
  • Define and establish metrics, measure and compare against benchmarks, monitor change control, and continuously optimize process
  • Assist in mentoring new Associate MTS positions

On a Daily Basis

  • Review new transfers and follow up on status
  • Review requests for expedite, determine feasibility and coordinate with appropriate groups to meet customer’s needs
  • Keep schedule accurate

On a Weekly Basis

  • Discuss priorities and updates with the Logistics group
  • Discuss priorities and updates with Third party vendors
  • Provide updates to the planning organization
  • Reschedule orders as needed to meet requirements and keep workload balanced

Business Process focus:

  • Provide expertise on end to end process of Finished Goods Material Transfers and its relationship with the rest of the supply chain process
  • Support and manage any metrics defined by management that will help the organization measure, control and improve the material transfer process
  • Support the mechanisms for data collection and analysis in support of the business process
  • Assist in mentoring new Associate MTS positions

GMP Quality, Training, and Documentation Compliance focus:             (GMP Quality)

  • Support issue resolution in collaboration with functional areas and appropriate group (Quality, Logistics, Planning, Third party vendors, etc.)
  • Contribute process improvement suggestions and assist in implementation procedures

  (Training)

  • Complete Training courses as required by the role/function

  (General)

  • Provide mentoring for new Associate MTS positions
  • Contribute process improvement suggestions and assist in implementation procedures

Education and Work Experience:

  1. Bachelor degree in related field or 3-5 years of relevant experience
  2. Experience in clinical development and/or clinical supplies preferred
  3. Prior supply chain, logistics, or operations knowledge is desired
  4. Experience with SAP desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  1. Detail-oriented
  2. Excellent computer skills including Microsoft applications
  3. Proven organization skills
  4. Strong ability to multi-task
  5. Understanding of cGMPs
  6. Ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's)
  7. Demonstrated high level of initiative and ability to function independently with minimal or no daily supervision
  8. Strategic thinking and independent decision-making abilities
  9. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, effectively and tactfully and to interact with different professional levels of the medical community
  10. Demonstrated ability to think logically and to critically evaluate and solve problems
  11. Highly effective interpersonal skills and professional values necessary for effective teamwork
