SAIC is currently looking for a Systems Engineers to support System Engineering & Integration (SE&I) activities for the Launch Enterprise (ECL) at Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) with our amazing team in El Segundo, CA! The ECL SE&I Team provides specialized engineering, analysis, operations support, and subject matter expertise to the SMC/ECL Directorate.
Key aspects of this position will include the following:
Requirements Management
Architecture Management
Technical Baseline Management
Requirements Management
Launch Vehicle Acquisition Support
Launch Mission Assurance activities, in cooperation with FFRDC
Launch Scheduling and Mission Assignments
Coordination with launch vehicle providers, satellite developers, associate contractors, FFRDC, and launch site teams
Job Specific Responsibilities
Lead activities based on sound engineering and acquisition practices
Elicit and refine customer requirements
Ensure designs fully support requirements and are consistent with customer budget, schedule, risk profile and organizational/system constraints
Performs Systems Engineering activities including: concept of operations formulation, requirements definition, analysis and engineering, system architecting, system analysis and design, interface and data architectures, validation and verification, systems integration, system & operational performance analysis, Lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, and decision analysis.
Analyze and review designs and test plans, processes, procedures, functional and data requirements analysis, system analysis, and documentation preparation for complex systems.
Areas of specialization: Guidance and Navigation systems, control systems, communications systems, digital communication protocol, electrical power distribution, control and transmission devices, signal processing, Instrumentation, electromagnetic compatibility and interference, electrical interfaces, avionics electronics, and Electrical Ground Support Equipment.
Other areas of specialization: test tools, engines, mechanical devices, turbines, propulsion and fluids, Materials and Properties, contamination control, ordnance, Mechanical Ground Support Systems, life support systems, and environmental control.
Qualifications
Required Education & Experience
Clearance level: TS/SCI
Bachelors (STEM) and ten (10) years or more of experience as systems engineer, technical PM or other related areas:
Working knowledge of space launch systems and processes, launch site preparations flow and day-of-launch procedures
General understanding of the NSSL vehicle launch interface requirements, launch transportation and processing requirements
Participated with senior managers to establish plans and objectives
Ability to recommend/make decisions on administrative or project work matters and ensures effective achievement of program, project, or organizational objectives
Masters (STEM)
INCOSE Certification
Work proficiently on unusually complex technical problems and provide solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious
Acquisition Experience
Model-Based Systems Engineering Experience
