Field Test Engineer
Location: Concord, CA ( 50% travel to various parts of US )

It's fairly generic but overall the person needs some level of device testing, QXDM logging or XCAL, etc. would be good. Android level debugging would be amazing to have but not necessary.
JOB SUMMARY
Individual contributor responsible for validating conformance of UEs to 3GPP wireless standards and performance requirements in a field environment.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Utilizes various tools and techniques necessary in the evaluation and testing of UEs in a field environment (eg, Qualcomm QXDM, QCAT, Keysight NEMO, etc)
As needed assess new product requirements and assist in developing test plans, test cases
Co-ordinate with vendors and other colleagues in the testing of new firmware, software, and hardware supporting Charters wireless solutions
Construct test plans, test cases to validate functional, performance, and business requirements for the technologies over charter infrastructure
Assist in the evaluation, selection, and deployment of new test tools and automation frameworks as relevant
Study future technology developments and formulate associated testing strategies and test cases
Provide timely and accurate information and status updates to functional leaders
Work with vendors and internal engineering teams to resolve issues and design flaws
Supports other initiatives and requirements as theyre introduced in support of new features, technologies to support Charters wireless enhancements
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
Knowledge, desire and ability to work and test in lab and field environments
Knowledge of LTE and NR layers (L1, PHY,MAC,RRC etc) protocols (OFDM, modulation, timing/synchronization, random access etc.)
Strong technology expertise, excellent written and oral communication skills, superb technical skills
Working level experience with 5G and 4G-LTE technologies, protocols and logging tools including QXDM, QCAT
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management
Ability to manage and deliver against several initiatives simultaneously
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
EDUCATION
BSEE in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent preferred
Several years of hands-on software and device test experience required
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Field testing with 50% or more travel
Travel - it's probably at least 50% travel to various parts of US. We're focused on getting Charlotte, NC ready now as our launch market so mostly Charlotte for the next few months....then we may also fly to Los Angeles, Dallas, etc for testing. They should be comfortable with at least 50% travel if not more.
Base location will be Denver. Of-course, all the expenses will be covered as per Charter poli
