Job Description:
As a member of our newly created dynamic, hi-energy direct sales team, the Regional Sales Executive is responsible for new business development, account implementation, and maintaining and deepening customer relationships within a defined sales territory selling the portfolio of Forward Air products, services, and solutions. The Regional Sales Executive is a hunter, providing consistent face-to-face customer contact supplemented with virtual engagement in an assigned market based geographic territory to achieve personal and company sales goals for small to mid-sized customers. Living within a reasonable commuting distance of the assigned territory is a requirement for this role.

Core Responsibilities & Duties:
* Create and execute a sales strategy to meet or exceed sales targets and increase market share in the region
* Develop new business and growing revenue by identifying net new customers/logos, conducting background research on potential customers, discussing the customer's supply chain with decision makers and other appropriate customer representatives, analyzing customer needs, and developing and implementing solutions
* Identify, develop, and qualify new sales opportunities through research, prospecting, and outbound calling
* Meet with customers to understand their needs and recommend appropriate transportation solutions that will benefit their business
* Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and serve as their main point of contact, providing them with exceptional customer service and ensuring customer satisfaction
* Collaborate with the sales team and other departments; including but not limited to operations, pricing, customer success, etc. to ensure customer needs are met and expectations are exceeded
* Provide accurate and timely reporting of sales activities and customer interactions in the company's CRM system (Salesforce)
* Continuously improve product and industry knowledge to stay up-to-date on market trends and competition
* Demonstrates initiative, organization, discipline, and adaptability while working in a team environment
* Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, or a related field preferred
* 3+ years of experience in account management, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry
* Proven track record of achieving sales targets and growing accounts
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
* Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
* Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
* Knowledge of CRM software (Salesforce) and Microsoft Office Suite
* Overnight travel may be required to meet customer demands
Skills:
* The ideal candidate will possess a "can do" attitude with a "will do" work ethic
* Must have the ability to work in a fast paced/high volume sales environment
