Job Description

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Data Analyst

This job will have the following responsibilities:
  • Develop strong business and technical understanding of the product and data warehouse. 
  • Ensure development of a quality product carried out through all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle for all projects 
  • After the groundwork has been laid, developers also must test their mapping and code to ensure the data is loaded appropriately. 
  • Data Analysts will also be responsible for understanding healthcare data and develop data Extract/Transformation/Load components using SQL/SSIS/SAS. The data engineer will handle new implementation, changes to existing layouts/data load code, automation development, performance optimization and database maintenance like indexing, fragmentation, etc. •Responsible for developing and managing all related extraction, transformation and load of data as per the defined standard. 
  • Performing SAS/SQL data analysis and mapping to build healthcare SAS data warehouses after reviewing client data feeds. 
  • Interpret and analyze multi-dimensional medical, provider, pharmacy, onsite clinic claims data as well as enrollment data to accurately assess and demonstrate key insights into key trends and opportunities in data warehousing. 
  • Ensure monthly data loads are performed, ETL Summary reports are generated and quality checks are performed on timely manner. 
  • Automate the production data loads as per the defined standards. 
  • Optimize the data load scripts to handle high volume data. 
  • Product Support defect triaging, fix and testing oWrite program to perform the claims adjustment logic and perform unit testing. 
  • Identify the fields which need indexes and create indexes accordingly. oCustomize the production and automation code as per the process when there is any layout change, claims adjustment logic or client data requirement change. 
  • Support the application, selection, analytics teams with the data related questions. 
  • De-identify the data for development environments as per the HIPAA standards. 
  • Training the junior resources and reviewing the code

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 3-6 years of experience using Microsoft SQL Server (version 2008 or later) 
  • Experience in both creating and maintaining complex T-SQL queries, views, and stored procedures 
  • 2+ year experience performing advanced ETL development using SSIS including various dataflow transformation tasks. 
  • Ability to create databases and perform database maintenance activities. 
  • Ability to monitor the performance and improve the performance by optimizing the code and by creating indexes. 
  • Ability to backup the databases as per the schedule 
  • Experience in Healthcare Medical Claims and / or Pharmacy Claims 
  • Proficient with Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel 
  • Ability to translate business needs into practical applications 
  • Ability to complete time-sensitive, multi-dimensional projects as part of a team 
  • Desire to work within a fast-paced environment 
  • Ability to work in a team environment and be flexible in taking on various projects 
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple concurrent projects 
  • Strong knowledge of Data Warehousing concepts 
  • Strong written, verbal and Customer service skills 
  • Knowledge of healthcare Claims systems and data warehousing concepts 
  • Knowledge of descriptive statistical modeling methodologies and techniques such as classification, regression, and association activities to support statistical analysis in various healthcare data. 
  • Proficiency in compiling data, creating reports and presenting information, including expertise with query, MS Excel and / or other such product. 
  • Proficiency on various data forms including but not limited to star and snowflake schemas. 
  • Knowledge of descriptive statistical modeling methodologies and techniques such as classification, regression, and association activities to support statistical analysis in various healthcare data
