Job Description

Are you looking for a new challenge within Supply Chain management?    US Mechanical Residential Group, an ASSA ABLOY company, is a market leader providing decorative door, cabinet and bath hardware to the residential market through an extensive North American dealer network. We're looking for an experienced Director Supply Chain to join our team.   The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in growing a team as well as a strong background in supplier development, revenue planning, inventory management, on-time performance and cost reduction. In this role you will focus on building and enhancing the company’s overall supply chain capabilities (processes, structure, and technologies).    What you will be doing In this role, you will lead and develop a team of 10 – 20 staff members, as well as maintain day-to-day procurement, subcontract, and supplier engagement and compliance activities. The successful candidate will have demonstrated success in establishing and leading a proactive, effective and efficient supply chain organization. Reporting to the President, US Mechanical Residential Group, the Director Supply Chain will be based in our City of Industry, CA facility.   Essential Responsibilities Include:
  • Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, policies, procedures, and standards consistent with the administrative, legal, and ethical requirements and objectives of the organization.  
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in supplier relationships and performance, inventory management, product cost reduction and supply chain efficiency.
  • Manage and coordinate sourcing, warehouse, internal delivery system, forecasting and planning activities. Manage warehouse personnel to achieve daily operational demands; manage warehouse operations including shipping, receiving and cycle-counting. 
  • Maintain strong professional relationships between suppliers and the company. Communicate effectively regarding key aspects of the partnership including growth plans, product specifications, quality requirements, business needs. Evaluate supplier effectiveness relative to procurement strategy. Establish and maintain key performance indicators aligned with company goals; implement plans to improve supplier performance. 
  • Develop supply chain, strategic sourcing, identify new suppliers to support future growth; analyze supply market conditions including tactics to mitigate risk and volatility. 
  • Work with financial team to maintain usage and forecasting information, provide comprehensive business review data as required.
  • Develop and manage sales and operations planning process, including demand planning in partnership with the operations team.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Bachelors’ degree in supply chain management, finance or a related field
  • 10+ years of related experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; knowledge of hardware industry a plus 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Bi-lingual English/Chinese preferred 
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills; proven negotiation skills 
  • Demonstrated knowledge of purchasing, vendor management and sustainability requirements 
  • Tenacious and self-driven; able to succeed in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects and priorities
  • MS Office skills (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook) required; knowledge of Oracle or similar ERP preferred
  • Travel up to 30% required, with a special focus on Asia (China)
