Element has an opportunity for a Purchasing Administrator. The main responsibility of this position will be managing Procurement of all materials for various testing laboratories, and for managing the Company vendor's database for North America



Responsibilities

  • Process procurement requests to meet operational deadlines
  • Expedite orders and provide delivery updates or order status to requestors
  • Investigate and identify alternative or lower cost suppliers if required
  • Assist Category Managers and provide purchase information when required
  • Transactional price negotiations for non contract goods and services when required
  • Ensure Vendor requests forms are complete and accurate prior to entering them into the ERP System
  • Work closely with Shared Services Centers to ensure requests and issues are responded in a timely manner
  • Prepares reports, spend history, presentations, or other documents from time to time using MS Word, Excel or Powerpoint
  • Monitor and report expiry of vendor's documents such as Liability Insurance Certificates
  • Clerical and Filing Duties as required


Skills / Qualifications

  • Understanding/Background or Diploma in Business, Accounting, Supply Chain or Logistics
  • 1-2 years of procurement and or supply chain experience, along with a willingness to learn as a career pathway
  • PMAC Coursework, working towards SCMP designation is a plus
  • Basic understanding of accounting
  • MS Office Suite (Particulary Excel/Word), and experience and proficiency working with Procurement and/or Finance information systems
  • Must be a fast learner
  • Ability to worker autonomously under minimal supervision
  • Must be detail oriented
  • Negotiating ability, highly organized, time sensitive and good communication skills a must
