Work Hours/Shift:

Full-Time, Monday – Friday

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Intermediate Regional System Administrators reports to the Supervisor of the Regional System Administration department.  All principal duties and job responsibilities are expected to be performed with little oversight or direction.  Additionally, the Intermediate role would assist in the education and oversight of the Associate System Administrators. This position is responsible for the execution of research, planning, deployment, continued support, and decommission of mission-critical systems.  System Administrators are responsible for both physical and virtual server builds, maintenance, resource projections, system decommissions, systems management alerting, and on-call support. This position requires active collaboration with other cross-functional teams to provide a stable, performing, and highly scalable server infrastructure, including technologies such as physical and virtual servers, LAN/WAN networks, and virtualization. Keeps environment secure by designing and/or implementing security remediations (OS security updates and OS configuration hardening) based on approved security standards or AIT policies.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED (Microsoft Windows):

  • Operating System Support – Maintains manufacturer-supported Operating System levels on all servers. Keeps Operating System lifecycle current and proactively plans for system upgrades to maintain compliance to AIT standards. Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve operating system issues. Configure, optimize, and monitor operating systems in accordance with AIT standards. Develop OS configuration standards, based on best practices and AIT security policies. Develop and maintain Operating Systems templates across all supported data centers.
  • Intermediate Administrator level of experience in systems administration concepts including security, management, deployment, and maintenance of diverse operating system platforms.
  • Intermediate Administrator level of experience using industry standard management tools, specifically Microsoft Configuration Manager (SCCM).
  • Intermediate Administrator level of experience using industry standard scripting tools, specifically PowerShell. Intermediate Administrator level experience with Virtual Server Infrastructure administration.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts is necessary, including LAN/WAN technologies, network equipment, protocols, and other communication systems.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS PREFERRED:

  • Basic project management skills

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in System Administration
  • Experience in large and complex enterprise server environments.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:

  • College degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent education.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an IT healthcare environment.
