As a Senior Electrical/Firmware Engineer in R&D, you will be a member of the Indianapolis R&D team supporting Post Market Investigation (PMI) and New Product Development (NPD) for the Liquid Handling, Centrifuge, Cell Health, and Particle Analyzer products.

This is a great opportunity for a self-starting and confident individual who can resolve technical issues impacting product quality, delivery and cost. Your responsibilities will include driving problems to root cause, solving challenging technical issues in product designs, and supporting electrical and firmware design within NPD.

This role is based onsite in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The selected candidate will work remote from their home office a few days and onsite a few days weekly.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Manage and implement design changes for issues identified while adhering to regulatory standards for medical products.

  • Be responsible for the development and maintenance of projects through product conception, definition, design, documentation, transfer, and sustainment.

  • Utilize Critical Thinking you can deal with complex concepts comfortably.

  • Focus on the customer you are dedicated to exceeding our customers expectations.

  • Drive for results you can be counted on to establish high expectations, motivate change, multi-task and have impact.

  • Communicate cross-functionally you promote open dialogue and collaborate effectively across multiple teams and functions.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline

  • 7+ years electronic design experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Schematic capture CAD design experience

  • Demonstrated experience in root cause investigation and problem analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to produce technical/process documentation

    Desired Skills & Attributes:

  • Biotechnology and medical device industry experience

  • Schematic capture experience preferably in Cadence

  • Familiarity with PC/Microprocessors, LCD/LED Display Systems, FPGA, CPLD or analog circuits

  • Experience with electronic circuit simulation/modeling software

  • Experience coordinating work effort with a diverse functional team

  • Experience with issue tracking using JIRA

  • Experience with two or more of the following: project leadership, DFMEA analysis, DOEs, or Visual Project Management

  • Experience with Real Time Operating Systems like Amazons FreeRTOS/OpenRTOS

  • Experience with FCC or CE compliance testing

  • Experience with embedded software

  • Experience writing code to test your own hardware

  • Experience with writing in C, C++, Java, Python, Scheme, or VHDL / Verilog
