Essential Functions / Responsibilities:
Responsible for designing, programming and maintaining modules, components and areas of the software platform in an unsupervised way. Identify the scope of the work, provide initial estimate and justify the estimate with facts. Engage in technical discussions; participate in technical designs and present technical ideas through white boarding. Maintain code quality through best practices, unit testing and code quality automation. Able to make informed technology choices after due diligence and impact assessment. Understand whole product, its modules and the interrelationship between them while serving as an expert in the assigned component or module. Design interfaces and information exchange between systems. Assess application performance and optimizing/improving it through design and best coding practices. Responsible for providing technical leadership and defining, developing, and evolving. Work with Product Line Leaders (PLLs) to understand product requirements & vision. Write code that meets standards and delivers desired functionality using the technology selected for the project.
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelor's degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), and 6 years of experience in a related occupation required. The position also requires: 5 years of experience developing applications using Object Oriented Analysis and Design, Software Design Patterns; 5 years of experience developing web services (REST, SOAP, WSDL); 2 years of experience working with NoSQL Databases; 5 years of experience with transactional data bases, such as MySQL, Oracle or Postgress; 5 years of hands-on experience with web development using HTML5, Java Script, jQuery, CSS; and 5 years of experience working with MVC frameworks. Telecommuting may be permitted. When not telecommuting, must report/appear into/at General Electric Company in Coral Gables, FL.
