Job Title: Donation Station Attendant (DSA) Back-Up
About the Position
The DSA Back-Up functions as a substitute DSA as needed and supports production and retail operations. Responsible for customer service with donors, sorting and stacking donations into collection containers for transportation to store locations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
* Provide excellent customer service, by engaging with donors in a friendly and professional manner.
* Provides back-up support at assigned geographic locations.
* Evaluate donated items to determine if acceptable for donation.
* Assist donors in unloading donations, explain donation criteria and provide tax receipts.
* Sort donations into assigned categories and pack safely into container.
* Inform supervisor of status of station, container footage, and condition.
* Maintain accurate donor tallies and other support duties.
* Maintain accurate and timely loading check lists
* Maintain a clean work environment.
* Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
* Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
* Performs special pickups for events.
* Demonstrates safe work practices through awareness and observation in support of a safety culture; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
* Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Education and/or Experience:
* No previous experience or education required
* Ability to read, speak and write English and perform basic math skills
* Ability to work with a diverse team
Certificates, Licenses, or Registrations:
* Must have current WA State driver's license with good driving record
Computer/Technology Skills:
* Ability to use a mobile phone
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to lift and/or move up to 40-60 pounds.The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; balance; bend and reach with hands and arms; use feet to operate foot pedal operation; and talk or hear. Occasionally required to climb ladders, sit, stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, or crawl.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Able to communicate with others effectively both verbally and written, including those who have limited English skills. Maintain reliable attendance.
