We are looking for a Data Analyst for one of our global medical device client in their beautiful campus in Irvine office.   Job Purpose: Data Analyst supporting the GSC Business Process Innovation group will play a critical role of using data to provide insight in an easily digestible format to the business.   This position will partner closely with Manufacturing Operations and engage in a variety of complex analytic projects that generate efficient end-to-end solutions for business and patient initiatives. This position uses data science processes to enable operational improvement, strategy deployment, value improvement and ultimately allow the plants to better serve our patients. This position will be involved in all parts of the analytic development process including ideation, prototyping, analysis, interpretation and measurement of insights. This individual will contribute to system-wide strategic initiatives using expertise in industry leading statistical and data science practices. They will engage in analytic projects which span all areas of computational modeling and complexity to operational outcomes which support the mission, vision, and values of the company. They are expected to collaborate with cross functional teams throughout all phases of the analytics process as well as transfer knowledge and insight with strong communication skills. Essential Job Functions: - Partners with cross functional teams to provide feedback on process development and design, analysis plan, analysis and interpretation of data. Applies statistical methods to drive additional insight. - Assists in design of data strategy and architecture - Uses appropriate analytic methods to research a loosely defined problem or hypothesis. Analyzes some predefined variables, deep business knowledge and some unknowns. - Create new statistical models in addition to models available in vended software. - Train others on skills and competencies required for role. - Successfully manage a variety of complex enterprise level data science projects with little or no oversight - Develop innovative analytic tools and methods that result in products and/or strategic insight with significant ROI while meeting requirements and deadlines. - Utilize diverse data stores to efficiently and accurately deliver high quality data of analysis and reporting. - Prepare data for analytics including data mining and feature engineering within large data-sets with complex data and classes and anomalies - Proficiently use scripting languages to work with API's, move data, and construct custom enterprise grade software utilizes, applications, or analytic products to automate, improve and operational quantitative models - Develop, document, and validate process and metrics to monitor model performance and outcomes. - Drive culture change for Manufacturing Operations to leverage technology in monitoring and sustaining production goals, metrics and digital factory Skills: - Demonstrate high-level knowledge of statistical analysis and modeling techniques and is able to apply them to the business setting to support strategic decision making. Runs machine learning and statistical models on data and demonstrates an understanding of model selection and outcomes. - Demonstrates proficiency at statistical or analytical software skills in programs such as SQL, R, Python, SAS to understand data - Clearly and effectively communicate at all levels of the organization to explain and present methods and insight to non-technical audiences - Work seamlessly with cross functional team members within GSC and across other business units to build strong team relationships to deliver results - Demonstrate curiosity to continuously learn industry trends and technology best digital practices for a digital factory - Ability to develop plans to support the production plants schedule requirements, and enhance the organization's efficiency, productivity and product quality while meeting the operational objectives - Entrepreneurial and proactive skills and a "can-do' problem solving attitude - Demonstrates applied understanding of data visualization and design best practices Education & Experience: - Bachelor's degree is required, MS a plus, preferably in Engineering or Data Analytics - 2+ years demonstrated track record of business analytics impact implementation in manufacturing is highly preferred - Experience in the manufacturing of high technology medical devices, healthcare or a regulated industry is preferred - Experience in developing, analyzing, interpreting, and managing a variety of complex data sets. - Project management experience with preferred PMP We are an equal opportunity employer and make hiring decisions based on merit.
