Business Ladder/MRO Purchasing Buyer

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Support department, division, plant, and corporate levels goals in reference to cost, efficiency, and customer service within MRO scope-Support Buyer team directly in improving supplier performance and measurable output using Honda supplier management techniques – Support and help develop department business plan themes (1 to 3 years) – Develop and support local, North American and Global sourcing decisions

Develop and refine polices, processes and procedure to ensure quality, safety, efficiency and cost controls

Professionally resolve problems (both internal and external), in a fair and ethical manner.

Support departments during business and technical discussions with current and potential problems.

Actively participate in providing feedback on performance issues to suppliers and develop qualified suppliers contractors that meet HMA business standard

Identify and implement value added opportunities –QCD Reporting Inputs-Suppliers/Department

Minimum Job Relevant Knowledge

Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Ability to collect, organize, analyze and present various data or business strategies

Project management skills

General understanding of accounting principles, negotiations, strong computer skills (MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Flexible and adaptable to change

Daily Tasks Performed

Daily support of resolution to delivery issues, DTR’s and general plant and lineside issues

Resolve supplier service, Quality, Cost, Delivery, and Management issues (root cause & countermeasure)

Interact with all levels of management internally, externally and with contractors

Additional Work Factor, Environment candidates will be working in office

Estimated amount of overtime

5 hours a week, frequency, average duration of travel

1x per month, based on business needs

Degree or Certification Required

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience

Required Skills

Understanding of Purchasing policies and procedures in a manufacturing environment

Detailed knowledge of contracts, legal terminology and cost/pricing models

General knowledge of basic MRO operations and practice

Desired Skills and Abilities

Good interpersonal, oral and written communication skills

Ability to collect, organize, analyze and present various data or business strategies

Effective project and time management skills

Effective problem solving skills

Strong customer focus, Supplier management/evaluation experience

Environment candidate will be working in:

Office

Estimated amount of overtime weekly:  2-4 hours/week

Frequency average duration of travel:  As needed
