Applications Engineer in our Advanced Training Program – Oxford, CT

RBC Bearings is looking for the right candidate to join our Advanced Training Program to become our next Applications Engineer.  We will offer you the training and the tools to exceed at RBC you just need the Drive!


Essential Job Functions:

  • Work directly with RBC customers to satisfy their application needs.
  • Support our external sales and business management personnel by making visits to customers to promote RBC’s capabilities.
  • Work directly with customers to resolve technical problems.
  • Responsible for the conceptual design engineering of new products and special products. 
  • Provide technical consultation on product design, application and service problems, quality deviations and material and parts substitution. 
  • Function as an engineering consultant to manufacturing on problems related to the manufacture of bearing and related products. 
  • Provides product design requirements to product design engineers and designers assigned to specific projects. 
  • Responsible for reviewing and checking new product designs prior to customer or manufacturing release.
  • Must be able to travel (domestic and international) 25% of the time.


  • The Ideal candidate will train for 2 years within our Industrial or Aerospace Division
  • Internal and external bearing technology training
  • Specific knowledge within all Industrial RBC Product Lines
  • Travel with Sales team to learn customers’ needs and build relationships
  • Other training's include; presentation skills, time management, leadership, etc…


  • Associates Degree in Manufacturing Technology (or similar degree) working towards a Bachelors in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering


  • Military trained Mechanical/Machining Certifications



  • Must have a minimum 10 years of hands on mechanical experience (for example: car mechanic, carpenter, US Military...)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • US citizenship is
  • Must be based in Connecticut
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Bi-lingual are welcome
  • Excellent communication skills, capability to interact with customers.
  • 3D Modeling experience in SolidWorks (or equivalent) is desired.
