Job Description

Environmental Specialist

Eurofins Lancaster Laboratories Environmental is searching for a Specialist to support our Metals group in Lancaster, PA.


Interpreting results of laboratory work; reporting these results to clients through oral and written communication; evaluating current organizational and analytical systems; suggesting and implementing the necessary corrective action to stay current with changes in regulatory and client requirements; maintaining cold vapor atomic absorption/inductively coupled plasma/inductively coupled plasma - mass spectrometer instrumentation; optimizing instrumentation; analyzing quality control and client samples; reviewing and evaluating data in an efficient, independent manner with a high degree of quality; training and coordinating other employees, as directed

Specialist responsibilities:

• Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility, as appropriate

• Demonstrates and promotes the company vision

• Regular attendance and punctuality

• Demonstrate skill in using the computer to access information, perform complex mathematical calculations and prepare reports

• Analyze samples independently

• Review, evaluate, calculate, enter, upload and verify data as required

• Document data following SOPs

• Perform non routine analyses with limited supervision

• Perform quantitative transfer and dilutions

• Read and understand the principles of instruments used for assigned work

• Perform effective written and oral communication with coworkers

• Evaluate current analytical system performance and suggest/implement improvements to maximize quality and productivity

• Assist with updating SOPs as needed to ensure compliance

• Perform IDL, IEC, linear range, and MDL determinations

• Keep individual training records updated

• Mass spectrometer instrumentation

• Optimizing instrumentation

• Analyzing quality control and client samples

• Reviewing and evaluating data independently in an efficient manner with a high degree of quality

• Working effectively with others as directed

• Staying current with changes in regulatory and client requirements

• Strong computer, scientific, and organizational skills

• Excellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detail

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitude

• Ability to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policies

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry/biology/industrial hygiene/physics or equivalent experience

• At least two experience with inductively coupled plasma techniques (ICP and ICP MS)/atomic absorption techniques

• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Position is full-time, Mon- Fri, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., with overtime as needed. Train on Mon-Fri 8 a.m.- 5 pm Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Lancaster, Pennsylvania are encouraged to apply.
