What this job involves:
Enabling Smart Workplace through IoT
You will be creating smart workplaces in some of the most prestigious addresses using IoT. You will be hands-on in the thick of IoT, from planning to installation to commissioning to support. Over time you will have an advantage in the world of IoT – while others can only talk about IoT, you make IoT work!
Keeping Ahead of IoT in Real Estate
At the heart of our IoT practice, you will be learning how to work some of the most advanced IoT hardware and solutions in the industry. You will also be evaluating new or emerging IoT technologies to understand accuracy and error rates, failure modes and impact, and to design deployment processes that work. You’ll have the opportunity to be one of the few real experts in this field.
Solving Todays’ and Tomorrows’ Challenges with IoT
You will be working with our diverse Digital Solutions team to invent sound and creative ways to solve workplace challenges, new and old. This intersection between technology, space and people is where the Future of Work is created - and you will be right in the middle of it.
This role has heavy physical demands with ability to crawl, bend, and maneuver in very small, confined spaces 25-35% of the time. This role also requires 25-30% travel - domestic and international. Flexible work schedule to include nights/weekends as needed. This is not a M-F 9-5 job.
Interested? This is what we are looking for in a candidate:
Capable and Interested
You are good at tinkering with electronics and went to technical school to pursue that interest. You’ve got your technical qualification – be it a technical diploma or college degree – and have set off to make the world a better place through technology. If that sounds like you, you’ll fit right in.
Able to work using Engineering Principles and Methods
You understand that “engineering” is not a title but a mind-set, a way of life even. You understand engineering analysis such as failure mode and effect analysis, root cause analysis, precision / error rate determination, fit-for-purpose and comparative analysis.
Knowledgeable in Hardware, Software, Network and System Administration
You are in your element working with TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, WiFi/802.11x, BLE and emerging IoT communications standards. You are able to configure and systematically diagnose or troubleshoot issues. You have operational/expert knowledge of programming, data management, and relational databases. You understand IoT architecture such as Edge/Fog, detection/measuring technology such as PIR, FLIR, LIDAR and transducers for measuring environmental data (air, temperature etc).
Curious with a Desire to Grow
While IoT seems “New”, it is a component of SCADA and is a proper engineering discipline. The field of IoT is evolving at breakneck speeds, with good and bad solutions being created and sold. Your success in this space will depend on your determination to continuously learn and grow yourself with our team - here you’ll be in good and experienced company.
You might prefer quietly tinkering with technology than conversing about the weather or politics… or you like solving problems while others are running away. You won’t be alone. We believe that diversity brings strength to our team as long as we collaborate and work as a team. Integrity and respect are cornerstones of our high performance team.
What you can expect from us
You’ll join an entrepreneurial, inclusive culture. One where we succeed together – across the desk and around the globe. Where like-minded but different people work naturally together to transform real estate with technology.
