Job Description

We are growing! Andersen Corporation currently has mid-senior level Engineering opportunities available at our Bayport, Minnesota facility. These roles will support high-level engineering projects throughout our operations. Individuals with a minimum of 5 years’ experience, as well demonstrated project management skills and a desire/willingness to travel are encouraged to apply.

MANUFACTURING/OPERATIONS 

(Operations - Manufacturing Engineering) 

FOCUS/OBJECTIVE: 

Primary responsibilities in manufacturing are to drive department and enterprise key initiatives within the Value Streams through utilization of continuous process improvement, improving customer satisfaction, reducing waste, increasing efficiency and eliminating variation in manufacturing processes. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Support policy deployment initiatives focused upon commodity and value stream to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Work in a team environment to perform problem solving and root cause analysis.

  • Lead continuous improvement projects aligned to lean manufacturing principles.

  • Lead cost reductions and yield improvements with delivery partners.

  • Utilize sound project management tools for complex projects and key initiatives.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:




  • 4-year degree in Engineering or Technology

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility

  • Equipment procurement experience

  • Strong project management skills

  • Strong knowledge of Lean manufacturing principles

  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, SPC and process capability

  • A minimum of 25% travel is required





ADVANCED MFG. (COMMERCIALIZATION) SYSTEMS 

(Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering Project Management) 

FOCUS/OBJECTIVE: 

This position is responsible to effectively contribute to our Commercialization Engineering Efforts through leading large-scale projects/assignments and/or playing the key technical role in projects/assignments.





JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:




  • Assess current vs. future capacity requirements and implement capacity improvements.

  • Develop and implement new production equipment /systems.

  • Develop work methods and layouts.

  • Demonstrated use of capital project management skills to deliver safe, effective, and reliable capital solutions.

  • Solid understanding of DMAIC tools; when to apply them, interpretation of results and application for effective solutions.

  • Interface with Advanced Design, Product Engineering, and other business partners on the design for manufacturability, process capability, and production builds of new product or product revisions.

  • Utilize Value Stream Mapping tool to develop current state VSM’s, interpret maps to identify improvement opportunities and create future state VSM’s. 

  • Key project work will require a minimum of 25% travel.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:




  • 4-year degree in Engineering or Technology

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a manufacturing facility

  • Demonstrated ability to implement lean manufacturing principles

  • Strong project management skills

  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams

  • Mechanical Aptitude

  • A minimum of 25% travel is required
